Idler Pulley/Need diagram
Mine started making a small noise 2 days ago. Today the bearing in the idler pulley melted off, long story short I removed it and put the new one on. But the pulley didnt spin freely afterwards and belt just snapped off. Is there a washer or some sort of pin that sits behind that pulley?? I searched for a parts list or a close up diagram to see if anything else goes behind the pulley. Please im frustrated any help would be greatly appreciated. a link or if anyone here knows anything.

You cannot use the small metal cover on replacement serpentine pulleys(unless it is the EXACT oem shaped pulley). Just the bolt directly into the pulley itself. Otherwise the cover contacts the pulley and binds it. I have been using a replacement pulley for some time. Works fine without the cover between the bolt and the front center of the pulley. If thats not the issue, it is either not the right size bolt or the wrong replacement pulley.

thanks for your info. the replacement one I had bought was just a tiny bit different. I went to a local junkyard found one and compared it there was just a tiny difference so I went ahead and bought it. It works fine but I'm going to get an oem from toyota soon for I wont worry about it going bad anytime soon.
