Default curious about lexus supra swap, is the manual that guy sells good?

the manual for the supra lex swap at

http://www.fly-hawaii.com/lexustt/

looks pretty complete from the acrobat sample i saw, but I was wondering what other peoples experiences with it were, was it good enough to get the swap done? Does it really have EVERYTHING you need?

all in all, I am just curious if this manual is worth 195 bux or whatever.

thanks guys

Hamid

Though I have never seen the info on that site, I don't know the person, and have no idea of the quality of his product; all I can say is that most every experienced person here is willing to help out everyone else w/o any form of payment. This is an information board. The fact that that guy is trying to sell his knowledge is a bit questionable.

I'd never buy it; if you're still looking for an opinion.

thanks for your help fellas. the only reason i was looking into getting it is that while me and a friend would be working on the swap it may have some helpfull hints in it, I know the best knowledge would come from you guys, but i think it may help, but hell, it is 200 bux....i may not get it after all.

thanks again fellas

Default Rethink this

The guy has put his time and money into the project and time is a precious commodity these days. Now if he wants to make a little off his hard work and energy expended in the product, you can subscribe, otherwise let him be.. If he wasn't selling any of the manuals, he probably would've lowered the price, but he hasn't to my knowledge which means people may be purchasing it, which in turn means is must be of some value

NOW.. Since it's only a PDF.. why hasn't someone bought it, and put it on the bootleg (it is a tad bit expensive)????

Maybe he'll let us get in on a group buy or something.. from the demo I saw, it looks awesome though.. finding all those wiring codes must have been a bi_ch..

While I agree with the rest of your post; the wiring stuff wasn't that hard... the 2jz-ge and 2jz-gte wiring harnesses are nearly identical save for 3 or 4 extra wires like the cam position sensor, boost sensor, etc

At the ECU itself, there's only one extra wire, I forget the count, but I think one is 166 and one is 167, it'll come to me.

Well because LexusSC400.com is doing a Supra TT into a SC300 swap, we contacted him and he is not doing the .PDF transfers because of the possible "bootleg" copies that might go around.

But we did get a paper copy and it is filled with lots of useful info & stuff.

Our SC300TT should be done in a couple of months! can't wait!

Scan it in and post it to the forum!

Maybe from now on we should have all the knowledgable people have a $1 charge to a pay pal account before they can respond to a question. God forbid someone share their knowledge and experience to help others.

The capitalism in this world has gone way too far.

Hi!

I'm the guy with the conversion manual! One purchaser did the complete conversion in about 4 weeks, with just a few encouraging emails from me. Feel free to contact him for his impression.. I think you will find there is everything you need to do the job with basic mechanical abilities!
