This post is a year old. Like one of the posts mentioned, you should check your regions forums here or Supraforums or Supramania to see whats around your area.

The W58 is the factorys SC300 5 speed. R154 is another option, its also a 5 speed trans from earlier model Supras but will need mods(gooseneck shifter).R154 can handle more horsepower than the w58. Theres also the 6 speeds-v160, v161 i think?

hey wicked SC, i know im like 4 years late lol but i was wondering if you got the swap done at sound performance, or wherever and how did it go?
i jst recently bought an sc300 AUTO with high miles and am thinking of getting the swap done along with the tranny.
so how much did it cost you? grand total.

if you get a Dr. Tweak harness the hardest part is out the way. Swapping in motor shouldn't be that bad if you have some mechanical abilities. Use the TRM and your old parts from your sc300 if you plan on getting an aristo motor.

I spent about $6400 for my Soarer 1JZ & R154 swap, but I also did some upgrading and swapped from Auto-Manual. I did the swap myself with the some buddies.

sounds about right and a little more if you need to do it from auto to manual and another chassis

hey i also am living in michigan and plan on doing the swap on my gs300. i was wondering where you ended up taking your car and how much it was. also how reliable has the swap been so far and what needed for it to be done.
