the smoke is most likely coolant burning. so i assume you have a coolant leak. its probably the radiator leaking, of a hose spewing coolant. if you look at your engine bay with the engine off and such, do you see like dried spots and splatter marks? that would be dried coolant. as for the idle oddities, i'm not sure why its doing that.

could be because the smoke is not consistent. its only visible sometimes.

Is the smoke ... smoke or could it be water vapor? If the car has been sitting for a while the vapor is normal.

hmm might be water vapor. it was sitting for awhile. btw i just noticed today that when i start up the car(cold start up) the car idles at 1500 in park and 1000 in gear. when in park at 1500 the needle goes up slowly and down slowly from 1500-1700 rpm continuously. it's pretty weird but does anyone know what this could be?? when the car is warm it idles fine and sometimes very low at like 500 rpm in gear. any help please.

another problem, i've been losing coolant and today i noticed by the coolant cap(the cap where you put in coolant) there is a hose connected to it and at the other end it is just left open. so coolant can come out of it. is it normal?? ill try to get pics tomorow.

check your IACV, it could be getting stuck and might need cleaning, it's possible that it could be causing that looping from 1500 to 1700rpms.

yeah its normal that hose is there so if you overfill it it has somewhere to spill out once you out the cap back on
