hey i've decided to build my ge block and head., now the question i have is when i go head shopping for parts such as cams, valves and plain old head internals....can an hks cam for a gte fit a ge? i know manifolds wont work, that i know already, but i will be going custom turbo manifold and custiom sheet metal intake manifold. i just need to know where and if yes they do interchange. thanks and hope for some feed back.

From the top of my head, these are the parts that are interchangeable:

Cam gears (non-vvti)
Cams - Intake only
Headgasket
Valvetrain (valves, springs, retainers, etc)

i dont want to put gte head parts into the ge head, im asking if i order hks gte 272's...would they fit on my head? or does hks sell ge 272's? thats what i want to know. im going to send my ge head out soon to be built but if i cant use some great performance parts then im not going to even bother. but thats my question, can i use hks, crower, crane...etc cams on the ge head??? thats what i want to know.

Exhaust cams are different. GE has distributor drive gear.You will
have to delete the distributor & go coil on plug like the GTE.

you can get 272's for the GE head. I got a set that were regrinds and they are just waiting to be installed.

The only exhaust cam shaft currently compatible with the 2JZ-GE are the TTC performance cam shafts (http://ttcperformanceproducts.com/tt...-268-2268.html).

im actually looking at the ttc 280 cams, wow...not bad, i wonder if its the same or close to the hks.....now im back in the game baby!!!

You can also use a 1jz head and make a 1.5jz as well.

And remember, GTE valve covers fit the GE too, so when you go FFIM, you'll have a badass looking GE

good ?s so basically to run the same cams the gte has u go COP is there a kit that u can buy not sure what to search for??

that is a good question, if i can go cop i would def. do that. i know for a fact i want to keep the ge head due to better flow, build the head and block but cop would be nice. good looks drift103, i dont know what ffim means though! talk about serious noob.
