Default Did my ECU die?

Ok, so this is what's up...

I'm 94 sc300 Na-t on Map-Ecu.

So before going NA-T months ago, the car would lose 4th gear occasionaly.

It would go in and out of 4th gear a lot untill i lost it all togeather.

after going NA-t I had 4th gear for about a month then lost it again..

Made a post on here and was told it's a bad ECU.

Well, i was driving on the interstate, and it kept up and down shifting, I checked my wideband, full lean.

I lost all power on the interstate, had to floor it to go 40mph to the next exit.

I pulled over at a gas station to check everything out, it was all fine. vacuum lines, MAP-ECU was on. the car would not start unless you gassed it. I had to power brake it at every light to keep it ideling.

I made it home, full rich. burnt a quarter tank to make it 3 miles.

Now it wont even start.

Did my ECU just DIE? If not, what could it be?

I also, will a 97 ecu fit my 94? I have a 97 at the house that i can swap them and check if they fit.

they'll connect, but I don't think it'll work since the ecu's run on different sensors. Like the mass air flow sensor for the 97 will be a hot wire and send a voltage to the ecu, while the 94 is a karman vortex mafs and will be sending a frequency of 5 volts.

I know theres other stuff but thats the initial problem. Even if you did swap it, the car wont even start because theres no signal from the mafs.

I'm pretty sure an ecu from 92-95 may work for you.

After i posted I remembered the OBD1 and 2 difference between the cars.

I'm just wondering if this is an ECU problem, and if anyone else experienced this.

I'm almost 100% it's the ecu.
