Got a question for experienced w58 guys. I'm going to swap out my a650e auto for a w58 5spd swap. My 5spd swap is off of a sc300 1995 and complete. I know I must use an adapter plate to fit the w58 onto the 1uz engine while retaining the vvti 1uz bell housing. Now for $300.00 I found the adapter plate available, but it states for the a34x/ auto tranny's bellhousing. Now I'm wondering would this plate also work with the a650 bellhousing? I guess the main question is, are the a34x bellhousing's the same as the a650e's? Has any one done this on a sc400 vvti? Once I get all the information sorted out, I will do the swap and be probably one of the 1st ones on CL manual swapping the vvti sc400. I think driving will be a blast this way as it already has 290hp.
