Question intake smoke...um yeah lil help please!

So I just finished putting all my covers on the car after replacing the intake cam on the passenger bank (old one had the cam gear bolt break). So I go to crank the car over after checking by hand and everything rotates. The car just cranks and cranks and cranks then eventuall puff...smoke comes out of the intake. I have never had this happen before. Any idea??

Thanks in advance!

you sure you got the right cam? double check to see if all the cams are on time and using the correct one.

The cam was pulled out of a 1993 LS400 and was for the passenger side intake so im sure its the right cam. So i checked spark and i have spark, i pulled out a plug and its wet and smells like gas so i have fuel and spark. Yet the damn car still wont start!!! Anyone have any other ideas or anyone in the so call area willing to give me a helping hand?
