coolant loss searched
Lately ive been having to refill my coolant everyday. There are no leaks underneath the car. Ive check the oil to see if there is any oil and coolant mix but the oil looks fine. One thing is that there is somoe nasty brown clay like material that always builds up at the top of my radiator cap. At first i thought it was the heater valve or something along that way, but i couldnt figure out why it would have that build up on my radiator cap. I thought it could be my radiator had cracked internally causing tranny fluid to mix with my coolant and filling my tranny up. So i checked my tranny fluid and the tranny fluid level was really high and looked diluted. Has anything like this every happened to anyone else? how likely would this happen? And last if i get an aftermarket radiator, i would need to custom a trany cooler right? My car is an automatic.

aftermarket radiators usually have the tranny cooler built in.
You should probably do a leak down test and you will be able to find out where the leak is. It might be as simple as leaking from a hose to something as bad as needing new head gaskets. You have to do a little investigating first to be able to find out whats going on.
Check all coolant hoses for cracks/tears. If you want, you can run the car and get it nice and hot. Then look around the engine bay and see if you find any leaks. If not, you could be burning it meaning your Head gasket(s ) (not sure if you have a 400 or 300) may be messed up. Is there white smoke coming out of the tail? If so, you might be burning it.

its a 300 and i think i may be burning it. I get a lot of white smoke. So most likely my hg is blown? Or just a bad hg? I just want the motor to last me til spring so i can start my swap.

Could be a bad HG.... A friend of mine has a very very similar condition with MR2. We poured down gallons of water/coolant and it does not seem like it ever gets filled up. We bled the lines etc with no success. Ultimately, I suppose it was the HG. Exhaust fumes were kinda wet and sticky.

i have been having the same problem minus the smoke i dont have smoke. I have been pretty baffled for a few weeks until the other day. I found it to be the collant line that goes to the throttle body and it leakes right onto the heat sheild of the headers thats why I would never see it dripping fluid onto the ground
