Default need some help or suggestions

I just bought a sc4. As per the previous owner he told me that the car ran outta gas and it turned off so the fuel system doesnt have much fuel to crank back on.He also told me that his mechanic said he needs a new idle sensor and injectors so the fuel can be delivered to the engine and also a new fuel pump has been installed. I have a few doubts on that mechanic but has anybody had this issue or know what it can be?? Im stuck cause I dont have nowhere to store the car and do some mechanical work so ill like to get an idea so i can move the car quick and fix this issue.

if it ran out of gas putting in gas shouldve started it already, but if all those things needs to be replaced, something else wouldve caused that car to die.

I was thinking maybe the engine isnt getting enough fuel. Is it true if you keep cranking the engine with no fuel some other parts can get screwed? Im kinda new to SC's and V8's....
