Transmission Whine After Swap
Stock 2jz with w58 tranny - So I swapped my motor and replaced the clutch. New pilot and throwout bearing, disk and pp.
Now I took off my shift boot and there is an audible whining noise coming from that general area. As I accelerate it gets more high pitched and louder, this only happens when in motion. As soon as the speed goes down below 20mph the noise disappears.
It sounds similar to an electric whine, but is not the powersteering or ac (disconnected) or belts or alternator.
I've searched but haven't come across any problems similar to mine.

If yours goes away when you depress the pedal wouldn't that be the throwout bearing? Mine's done that for a while.
Right now with mobil 1 75w-90 the shifts are a bit more notchy than they were before... I'm thinking of going with Redline MT90
