Thumbs up 2JZ-GTE Swap Into An SC400? Should I?

I have a 98 sc400 and have always heard its harder to swap the 2jz or 1jz into to sc400 and wanted to know why is that. Which one should i go with the 1jz or the 2jz? I figured it would cost me more money to mod my sc4 than it would to just do a swap but i want to know for sure if its possible and if there will be any fitment issues. I have a pic of my sc every1 i know or see says they like the kit b/c no1 else has it but a few people said it doesn't look that great and was thinking to maybe put the oem bumpers back on I'm not sure let me know what you think.

Take off the kit. Don't do the swap. Enjoy the car as it is. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with ^^^...Take the kit off

Since you have a 98 like me...that means you have the 1uz vvt-i...the motor stock is a beast...I say BFI, exhaust, lower, and rims...just my opinion

thanks turbo819 that was really helpful, you basically mapped out what need to do. I'm definitely going to do the swap. I just needed to make sure. This is going to be a future mod to be done in about 2 and a 1/2 months b/c i just don't have enough money yet and working part-time.

No problem sc4demon. Hit the link. ALIGA is here in NEW YORK and has a lot of SC300 parts to make your swap a little easy.

Hi sc4demon,

I know it's been like 40 years since this thread was last active, but I'm getting ready to do a similar swap in my SC. My differences are that I'm doing it in a 95 300 5spd. Do you know of the differences between my list and yours, or maybe where to point me?

I'm sure it's out there somewhere in search land, but your list is the most comprehensive list I've found thus far. I know I plan to do an AEM EMS instead of factory computers and my friend can do a custom harness from the ecu to the AEM unit. I also plan to do an FMIC and QTP eDump. Other than that, it will be pretty similar. Oh and I dont really think I need VVTI. I really wanna do a 6 speed swap, but I figure I can probably go the aristo route and have all parts and labour (hook up price) done for about the same as a 6 speed swap alone. What are your thoughts?

Any advice is MUCH appreciated!!
