Removed cat, what a b****. but looks good, not melted looking at all, i can see light thru to the otherside.
Pulled everything off and double checked the timing marks, everything is Dead on....
I'm really scratching my head now. maybe a coil, i dunno.
Does anyone know how to check a coil?
weird thing is, it runs, just when u hit the gas, it has no power...

i tested the resistance of both coils per FSM procedure. the primary winding on both coils read a fluctuating .8-1.2 ohms, the manual states .4-.5 ohms. Did they both coincidentally go bad to the same degree at the same time? or just an acceptable variance.....

I know this thread is over a year old... I have the same symptoms on my ls400 after replacing rotors/caps and a whole bunch of other stuff. Sounds like i need to tear it all back down again to have a look at the rotors?
I didn't even believe the rotors could be put on backwards.

if it's rough at idle i say it's the wiring. my 400 is very smooth in idle and just one click in the ignition key it starts like new engine but when i rev it to 2000 to 4000 it's rough, cats were changed, tps new, only oxygen sensor left to raplace. don't know what's wrong. need help

I don't think the rotors can be installed backwards in the ls400 from what I remember.
