Default where iz my voltage regulator?

1st time I ever brought my car to a shop & they screw me. Anyways, my battery light comes on and batt dies. Fine I change the alternator, the battery light no longer comes on but the car still dies. Every time I disconnect a batt terminal the car shuts off. So after 2 used alternator's I pop for a rebulit 1. Still same problem. So after speaking 2 some ppl I check throttle positioning sensor & voltage. Well the tps seems fine when I rev it up the voltage doesn't change. Batt just dies. So I still think alt but need to consult the great C.L. 4 advise. Any will be appreciated. Oh 92 sc400!

if you're car keeps dying with new alternators, start checking the wiring to see if it's reaching the battery. How much voltage is the battery reading at idle?

You should not disconnect the battery with the car running, only get a volt reading at the battery with a volt meter, while running should be between 13- 14.5 volts.

It reads 13.5 but dies. This all started @ the shop. I'm thinking my amp is draining it. I had a cap on but they said I don't need it. It's only a 500 watt digital amp, 1 15" speaker. I don't use my hids. I drive my van @ nite. I'm gonna take this alt out & try a new 1.

1. please learn how to spell properly. u dont have 2 spell like dis 2 git ur pt axross

2. voltage regulator is part of the alternator as mentioned

3. get a multimeter and check continuity of all the wires going from the alternator

4. doesnt matter what size amp you have. if its connected to a constant 12v then it will drain it no matter what.

5. disconnect all the aftermarket wiring in the car and work from there. if you didnt do the work and you dont trust the work then thats a start for diagnosis.

good luck.
