Question SC400 engine swap with a Tuindra motor

Well I just completed a search of the SC section to see if anyone has tried or knows of anyone who has swapped the motor out of an SC400 with a Tundra motor?

Does anything think that a Tundra motor will go into a SC400? I am also researching if a Mustang or Corvette motor will work too.

Mustang?

Cobra or anything superior to that. If THIS is done, it will sound soooooo sexy.

I've seen the tundra engine in.
What do you want to do w/ your projected setup? TT? S/C? N/A ?

SHould be awesome.

Yea, I'm wondering WHICH Tundra motor you are talking about.
ScottURNot is doing a 4.7L Tundra engine right now, Lextreme is I think trying to fit the bigger totally different 5.7L Tundra engine. 4.7=Not a problem 5.7=Barely any room whatsoever from what I can see*

I'd go with a 4.7L. I was also looking at a LS2 and a 4.6L 32 Vavle Mustang Cobra Terminator motor too. I don't see too much out there for the 1UZFE motor.

There's no room for the new Tundra 5.7L engine at all. I've personally seen Lextreme test fit it in the SC, but it's not clear. The valve covers barely touch the strut towers, and the headers don't fit For the 4.7L, you'll have to use the SC heads in order to clear the hood. The original 4.7L heads are taller than the SC. The 4.7 block and the 1UZ block are the same in dimensions, including most holes for bolts/nuts. But it's worth the swap. I drove his 4.7L SC and it's way too torquey.

When you do the 2UZ swap you are mainly just switching out the blocks. You can even easily modify the intake for the 1UZ to fit the 2UZ. Basically it will look like a stock 1UZ when you are done but with a big surprise inside.

the 4.7 even uses the stock ecu. with a 5.7 tundra motor or a cobra motor or a ls series engine you are going to spend lots more money. the 4.7 is easy

If ur trying to go fast put a 2jz in it... And if you do put a v8 in it...there are a lot better choices than ford products. The LS7 v8 would be interesting. Anything older would most likely be slower than a good 2jz setup tho. The Toyota v8s will also be slower than a 2jz.

Depends on how much money ur gonna spend tho. A good 2jz can run several thousand dollars in engine management alone. If you dont plan to spend money on the motor then I can see why you want a v8.

If you wanna go fast and got the cash put a 2jz in it. You can make anything you want from 200hp-1000hp. With heavy duty rods and valve springs you can even spray it and drive around in first gear all day if you feel like it.

The toyota v8s would prolly be fairly cheap especially the one that comes with the sc400.

I did some quick looking and it appears the LS7 would prolly cost as much or more than a 2jz. And they weight in about the same 2jz being ~15-30lbs heavier.

Just stick with the 2UZ swap. I think you'll be very pleased, plus you'll make a ton more low end torque than a 2JZ and who wants to see yet another 2JZ swap??? Make it interesting, you'll have more power than anyone would even think about because it will still look stock and once you, or if you boost it you will be making awesome power. Also a 2JZ swap will cost alot more, you already have most of the parts because so much from the 1UZ carries over to the 2UZ. DO it man, I think you'll be very pleased.
