Clean your IACV - Idle Air Control Valve
#20
Yes because my screws are messed up so I was hoping someone has some parts numbers. I will have to extract my screws first and use new ones. It seems that with sc400 you can rebuild and clean iacv.

I will open that up tomorrow and handle the job cus i had a problem with the IACV but it resolved itself after i tapped the outside of the cap.
( I believe the spring might have been a little stuck or something cus after i hit it a little from the outside...the problem stopped and as been over a month with no signs of low idle or engine check...etc. )
Great thread cus it reminded me to do something important

I am just now getting to this project. On my SC4 the black cover is held on by three (3) soft phillips-head screws. The #1 and 2 screws are on the top and easy to loosen but the third is at drop-dead bottom and very hard to remove. I have almost stripped the head trying to get it off (haven't yet).
On a lark I tapped on the IACV cover this morning an took it out for a drive. This is the problem as the car ran very rough and stalled once before recovering after a mile.
Can anyone recommend how to remove this hard-to-remove (soft) screw?
Thanks ...
