no sure what you car is originaly (300/400 or auto/manual) but if you do a search on SF there are many different ways to go about you can use a GS 400 rear or auto TT rear or stock 5-speed rear end and get a mixture of either 6-speed and 5-speed shaft or just full one peice drive shaft custom made. But the worst set up read about is if you car was an original GE auto and you try to use that rear end your gear ratio will sux dirty style. There is alot more to it if you really want some input on this hit up Supraforums or PM wicked SC he has a 2jz ge na-t with a 6-speed conversion with a one peice shaft .... if you want pm me and i'll send you link to a good page that has all the info ur asking about

if you dont have a v160 yet.just go with a r154 tranny..gear ratio might be a little better plus cheaper in the long run..but thats if you dont have the tranny as yet..if so..i believe as mentioned above..the gs400 rear is 3 27 ratio i think..which is perfect for the 6 speed tranny..or better yet mk4 tt 6 speed rear

If done correctly you will need the 6speed rear and rear section of drive shaft ,or gs400 rear the 6speed rear is limted not sure about the gs.

how about the front 1/2 of the driveshaft. I already have the v160 and the tt v160 front 1/2 of the drive shaft. Can I just mate that with my stock sc rear shaft?

ok just got some info that people need to know.

Had a conversation earlier with another member on here on aim:

13:13:19) me: ok quick question then
(13:13:26) me: I have the tt front shaft
(13:13:35) me: can I just mate that with the sc rear shaft and be good?
(13:30:48) me: cant find the answer anywhere everyone goes custom I dont want to.
(13:31:26) shogun86: nah it's 2 short
(13:31:26) me <AUTO-REPLY> : I'm not here right now
(13:31:54) me: the front 1/2 is too short?
(13:32:27) me: do you know by how much cause maybe I can just send that out and get lengthened
(13:42:56) shogun86: if you're doing a V160 u would have 2 make the rear half longer
(13:42:56) me <AUTO-REPLY> : I'm not here right now
(13:43:37) me: the stock rear 1/2 will be going to the stock bearing location right
(13:43:46) me: cause that stuff is all stock
(13:44:37) me: so I just have to reach from the v160 to the stock bearing location
(13:45:16) shogun86: the V160 front half cannot bolt to the sc rear half
(13:45:33) me: so the splines are different?
(13:45:54) shogun86: yep
(13:46:26) me: so I need the supra rear 1/2 of the shaft and it has to be lengthened
(13:47:59) shogun86: also depends on the differential u use
(13:48:28) me: 98 and up sc400 but planning on using the stock sc300 just for now
(13:50:04) shogun86: the 1 i had was a modified sc front half of the driveshaft w/ the flange for a v160
(13:50:56) me: maybe I can have the driveshaft shop cut the sc splines off the one and weld them on the supra 1/2
(13:51:38) shogun86: oh ok

So aside from people saying go with the one piece shaft and go get a r154, you need to take the supra front shaft and transfer the sc300 splines to the supra front 1/2 so it will mate with the stock rear 1/2 if you want to go with the stock sc rear or sc400 rear.

All you need to put the v160 in drive shaft wise is the stock supra tt front half of the shaft and someone to modify it. I will follow up with how it goes.
