SAFC for a 1999 SC400 with no Cats have questions !
Looking to get an AFC for a 1999 SC400 with no Cats
Anything I should know?
I have a check engine light which im preety sure is the typical oxygen sensor gone bad..
Im hearing allot of people say wide band , but I have no clue what that means.
Can someone give me some pointers and tips and what I can expect out of the car . Currently I get 13mpg city and about 20 highway.
Will I be seeing increased acceleration , fuel savings?
Will I need to get new oxygen sensors?
I also have a BFI intake , how will that affect it ?
And last but not least any good tune shops around the Metro NY area .
Thanks guys

When installing it, the correct maf sensor for 96+ is hotwire.
The check engine light is most likely the "no cats"
If you're going to tune it yourself then you MUST have a wideband, unless you get it professionally tuned at a dyno shop.
As for the mpg, it really depends how you tune it. The biggest mpg gain would be to change up the way you drive. (Drive grandma style. lol!). Here is a good thread:

You will of course see better acceleration when tuned.
The afc will not mess with the O2 sensors unless you're dumping a lot of fuel on them.
And a BFI should help it out.
...other than that, most of this stuff you could have searched and found a response.
