Why don't you just use a ge block. Just as strong as long as its not a vvti.

Personally, I was in the same boat ago and after doing research and being forced to TT.... LOL I did the gte swap. It is cheaper than getting a preassembled long block than going NA-T than finding a quality turbo kit along with right tune. I heard the 1jz heads flow better than 2jz. go 1.5jz if heads are a big concern.

1jz heads do not flow as well as 2jz. There's a thread on supraforums with flowbench results.
