The kit comes in with the stud. Gotta use it.

2000 mile review:

The car is wonderful. The w58 matched with 3.92 stock diff produces a lot more torque over stock auto in the lower gears. It could use a bit of longer gearing and am considering moving to a 3.77. I've considered switching to 3.26 but I will only do it if I do an M90 setup.I am still having fun with it NA so it might take a while. The IMF headers and full exhaust really make the swap even sweeter. The clutch in the kit (i have the full face) is perfect for the stock 400 power, not too grippy, just right. I noticed I look forward to driving it on the weekends nowadays.

so...the only thing different about a mkiii w58 and a sc300 or mkiv w58 is driveshaft???!!!

this is not a problem, i manage a large machine shop that specializes in driveshafts, ill just make my own if this is the case.

also...why not a r154? they are the same size yea? sensors are the same are they not? im confused with this lol.

R154s CAN be used. Quantum Auto supplies Adapter Kits specifically for 1UZ/R154

just for anyone looking to do a r154 swap onto a 1uz(sc400) there are a bunch of things not really covered in depth, however ill just touch on a few points of interest. i had to custom make a tranny crossmember, i had to cut and extend my shifter 4" forward, the marlin crawler just plugs right in, be sure to properly shim your howe TOB because the 1.25 billet spacers done on w58 swaps doesnt work alone. if your car has OLLLLD power steering resi hoses becareful when you til your motor back to get to the bellhousing bolts, mine tore sending PS fluid everywhere(oh well just showed they needed attention). some people say the flex plate spacer is needed, i didnt use it and it starts/engages fine. still looking to get the reverse lights working, i just dont know which plug has the correct wires. the mk3 pedal is kind of a pain, but once its in it looks and feels good. be sure to tighten both bolts on the firewall all the way(it will straighten your resi up). i just made a template of the clutch pedal out of masking tape and transferred it to the auto brake pedal and cut, becareful not to burn your carpet. i would suggest to bench bleed the master clutch cyl cuz mine is givinng me a hassle. anyone know how to bleed a clutch when everythinng is brand new? i have a vacuum pump but working alone makes this task difficult. bridging the NSS is very simple. and a very overlooked subject is the driveshaft: the r154 shaft doesnt work, but may or may not with the rear half of a 5 speed sc300 shaft. the r154 carrier bearing is too narrow for the sc bolt holes, AND if you want a custom shaft made you must buy from driftmotion the billet adapter(converts toyota 3 flange diff to a 1350 style ujoint flange), or have a local machine shop do it for you, on mcmaster i found a billet 6" diameter/1" thick 6061 puck for 26$. ill probably have some more info to add when im not in a rush.

What exactly did you have to modify for the transmission crossmember? Why will it not fit? Did you use the mk3 r154?
Im In the middle of the mk3 r154 swap right now, but need to do the shifter extension. Just finished rebuilding the r154 and dropped the auto tranny and using the QUantum kit.
What did you torque the flywheel bolts, pressure Plate bolts, and tranny adapter bolts to?

i sold my auto trans with the rubber mount still attached, so i was forced to use the mk3 mount/crossmember. its not wide enough to span the trans tunnel, so i just extended the mounting holes and braced it on all sides.

the shifter extension for me just looks like an exagerated swan shifter.

flywheel 77ft lbs, pp 25ft lbs, trans adapter used a 3/8" socket with loctite and just snuggggg

Ok that helps a lot. I dont understand though why it would be hard to bleed the clutch line. Im thinking that im going to put the bleed line all they way back up to the clutch cylinder.
