Nice job on figuring it out man. I had a feeling that changing out the lights would be pretty simple like that but read a guide on here that really discouraged me from even trying to attempt. Glad to know that it's basically plug and play with the bulbs just like on the 240sx.

Thanks again for sharing.

I could have changed out the bulbs, but I thought why do that and have to weight on them to come in, when all I had to do is tape some plastic in behind it. I tried 3 different types and shades of blue till I got it right, well at least, what I liked. The other 2 looked 2 white to me, hardly any blue tint.. They would look even better and brighter without that tinted shade on the cluster. Does anyone know how to replace this with something clear? Your welcome on the sharing... Glad I could help out!

I bought the 8 bulbs at the local Oreilys.. Their Sylvania size 24.. These are only for the the backlighting for the fuel, temp, mph, and rpm, ONLY! Not all the bulbs are the same back there. The other ones are a little smaller than the 24's. Keep in mind the 24's are actually .4 watts brighter than the original ones. I believe the 24's will also work on the middle gear selector lighting also.. They are 5 of them... I would have replaced them as well, but I went to 2 different part stores to get those 8. They ran out of them.

I used a Mead type folder from Wal-mart.. I found the darkest one I could find.. I also went to Staples... I used 3 different blue color folders, before I found that actually showed a true blue.. The other 2 were to white looking. I can post a pix of the exact same folder tomorrow, if you would like.. Choose a folder that you can see a little light through... Dont use one that is very transparent, I didnt like the way it looked.

Whatever you do, do not use super glue, the fumes will cause the bulbs to turn solid white and also the inside of the plastic folder pieces.. Makes it look like crapp ola! Good Luck!

NO.. Maybe I wasnt precise enough.. Sorry! The Slyvania bulbs are number 24 on the package. They are a total of 8 all together, JUST for the backlighting for the temp, fuel, mph, and rpm. The two part stores that I went 2 ran out of the size 24 bulbs. This is why I didnt replace the P,R,N,D,1,2. I believe these extra 6 bulbs were also size 24... I would by a total of 14 size 24 Slyvania type bulbs. They are .4 brighter than the original ones.. All the other bulbs, if I remember correctly were slightly smaller than the size 24 ones. Also none of these were burnt out, just one of the size 24 on my cluster, this is the reason, I only changed those out.

This is getting stupid. This info has been stickied to the top of the forum for 6 years. You're acting like it it's never been posted before. Cmon man, read the info that has been given to you. Being an '09 isn't an excuse it is literally hanging right over your head. If 1992lexus wants to repeat it for you, that's his deal, but he should not be made to because you won't read the stickies.

(I'm not busting your *****, I'm bored tonight )
