I was sitting at a drive through today, and I look down and the car is over heating. I turn on the heater, and the heater would not work. I get out of line and into the parking lot. Turn the car off, and pop the hood. The radiator was spraying out the bottem, and a little out the top. What could of caused this? Should I buy a stock one and a new thermostat? Are sc300, sc400 and supra radiator's all the same.

WHere from the bottom? DOes it have a crack?

I would change the thermostat first, and radiator cap. Those are the easiest. Burp the system after puttin fresh coolant.

Have the heater on of course. When its near the operating temp, and feel the top heater hose. Should be hot.

Sc300 and supra radiators are different. At least between sc300 and tt supras. I'm not eactly sure about the sc400.

Is your water pump weeping or leaking anywhere? If so, that means a new water pump is in order. Installing one is considerably more work that the Tstat and new cap.

I would change out the water pump while at it if you have some pretty good miles on it. My other car seemed to have been the tstat but my water pump was messed up. Luckily I didn't have to pay labor for anything.

i installed a 50mm aluminum supra tt radiator on my sc300 and it worked plug and play with the stock 2jz-ge engine. mine was a 5mt, i ordered a manual supra aluminum radiator.

I was referring to a stock tt radiator, but I've only read about it also. So Yes, I could be wrong either way.

the radiators are definately differnt, but look at the logic flow.

if i can stuff a big fat aftermarket metal rad for a supra TT into my sc300 and it looks perfect, then the OEM one will work as well.

only modification to installing the TT radiator was flipping the bottom rubber grommets on the radiator upside down.

fits 100% with stock bracket, overflow tank, radiator in and out hoses, everything.

It was leaking in the bottom middle. I dont hear the water pump making any noise, and its not leaking. Could it still be bad? Ill check tomorrow if theres a crack. If theres no crack then Ill go get the thermostat, new cap, and flush the system. I live about 25 min south of austin. Ill let you guys know what happens. Thanks

Makes sense. I have no experience so maybe I should keep quite next time
