Default Removing Stock Air Filter

Got a K&N air filter for my stock box. Anybody replace their filter with the K&N or did I just get sucker into some marketing. Hopefully, it won't make it too much louder as I remember replacing the stock box with a cone filter in my previous car. It was definitely alot louder. Of course, I had a number of other mods. Trying to keep my sc as stock as possible.

Can anyone advise on how to remove this simple filter. I remember replacing the stock filter before but I could have swore I just pulled out the old and replace it with the new paper filter. There seems to be a clip attached to the bottom of the filter. Is there a trick to get this out or do I just pry it out? Any help would be great.

a clip on the new filter? the only minor force involved was seating the rubber seal around the filter to the box. There shouldn't be anything else.

And IMO, you did get suckered. Make it worthwhile and go BFI.
