chips anyone?
Hey guys, as I continue on my quest to improve my car, I was thinking of getting a chip. So far it's been really hard finding places that make a chip for the SC. Custom would be pretty pricey as well. Does anyone have thoughts on putting a chip in and/or know places to search for SC ones?

What do you know?
I got an answer back from the sales people at jetchip.com
This is what I got back from them:
"We do have an ecu upgrade available for your application. The ecu upgrade does require that the factory ecu be sent to us for modification. You must purchase the upgrade package before sending the ecu to us for
the modification. Suggested retail is $399.00, and the part number is 65002. The ecu upgrades are all done per the application, in other words, do all the modifications you intend on doing before you get the ecu upgraded. That way the program can be set up for the specific modifications.Hp gains would be dependant on the extent of modifications."
Check it out, the site is:

They don't list our cars but you can order one through:

cupete's info is pretty typical of "chip" modification to the ecu. There really is no "chip" - some domestic applications actually have a plug in "chip". IMO 900$ for 40hp? No. 900$ would have a 100 shot of no2 installed at least and probably money for valve springs and custom exhaust. I'll save for the turbo and worry about the computer issues later. IMO.
Lots of guys buy a whole new/used ecu for reprogramming and keep a fall back on hand when they do this.
