HELP!!! What this noise????
I bought this built tranny and 3800 stall converter a few months back. Its supposed to be in perfect shape, and has only 400 or so, miles on it.

Im just now installing it. When I put the converter on the trans, and turn it, I get a metal on metal grinding sound. If I put the stock converter on it, its smooth as glass.
Heres a video of it. Im trying to get this thing together, to go to TX2K9. Ant help is appreciated.

I talked to the guys at PI, and had them watch the video. They said it should be just fine,..... and that the converter is built to such tight tolerances, without the weight supported and centered, it'll be like that.
Hope so anyway. Tomorrow Im going to intall the cooler/fan, inline filter, fill it with $100 worth of Mobil 1 ATF, and see how it drives. Im pretty excited.
By the way. I read that you need special bolts for the stall converter, ...not true. But you DO need special bolts for the flexplate. Ones with flatter heads.
I put the tranny all in, thining the bolts I had were for the torque converter. But, when I went to put them in I noticed they were the wrong thread, ....they were for the flexplate. So, I had to pull it out AGAIN, and swap out the bolts. The factory converter bolts work just fine.
