Default 2jzge tensioner question

whatsup guys i need help. i was driving today and all of a sudden my battery light came on and i lost power steering, okay so i though accessory belt came loose or broke no big deal needed to be done anyway.

come to find out, i pop the hood open and i see the whole tensioner with the pulley broke off a couple blades out of the fan and lodged itself between the radiator and the fan. im just glad the radiator didnt get damaged.

my question is, it looks like the part where the tensioner and the spring is attached to broke off completely from the motor. is that a replaceable part or am i going to have to replace the block, the car is not home yet so i havent been able to look at it completely. thanks in advance for the help.

A pic would help, but from your description you will need to replace the entire arm/bracket and tensioner. I don't believe they sell just the pulley by its self.

If it's the tensioner assembly it's not a problem, easily replaced. I would try and figure out just exactly why it broke though... A tensioner snapping in half is not something common...

im baffled myself, when i popped the hood the accessory belt was wrapped around the rad fan. and the pulley was chipped but the belt was in one piece. as long as you guys say i can replace its not so bad then, im thinking maybe when the belt came off the tensioner snapped back and broke ? to top it all off i lost my job yesterday at the dealership and now im gonna have to spend my last paycheck on this dumb shi* ... oh well

The drive belt tensioner is easy to replace. In your case I would definitely recommend getting a new replacement. I picked mine up from the dealer for about $120. Its only held by 3 little bolts that you can see once you remove all the plastic belt covers in the area where all the pulleys are.
