w58 box will shatter under the load of a 1jtt or 2jtt that is why the 1jz turbo manuals use the r154 box

no

i have a built w58 along with 4 spares so i am not to worried at at. and i think that is a misconception, since its a hit or miss with the "w" series trannies, as alot of people with supras (mk3,mk4 with 2j 1j's) are holding there power.

I am aware of what transmissions are used on the toyota cars.
I was just wonder if i could use the 2jz flywheel with a "w" series

Welcome. On page 1 or 2 there is a breakdown of all the differnt flywheels you can use, some you can retap and use but there's a debate on if it sacrifices integrity of the flywheel or not. I laughed at vsoarer91's post a little. There are people that use the W58 and are just fine holding pretty decent power. But yeah they're kind of hit or miss.

I always thought that you used the w58 fly for the w58 trans. That's what the A70 people do too.

Wow, you are so misinformed....you can make a reliable 320 at the wheels with a W58. A stock 1 or 2J doesnt come close to that.

That has got to be the most ignorant answer to any question I've ever seen on this forum.
