hey wangan, nice thread.
i was just thinking:
wouldn't it have been easier to just use the aristo engine harness/plugs, and then splice in the wires for the body plug (like splice them in down by the ECU)?

edit: i missed page 2 where you addressed this.

I think some of us like the harness that came with our car to be honest. I know it works and I know it isnt rotten due to sitting in a junk yard for who knows how long.

its really preference. either swap in another harness where you have to extend literally every wire going to the ecu, OR you can just change out a couple of plugs in the bay and run a few extra wires for the ignitor.

I think modifying your original harness will involve making less connections and soldering, than extending the whole harness and for me less connections = less chance of messing something up.

More than it's worth. $600+ DON'T do it. There is NO good reason, unless you live in California and are trying to make a completely stock car.

the JDM computer is better in nearly every single way, MAP based from the factory being #1, and they are CHEAP

look on supraforums or ebay. they can get pretty expensive depending on where you find one.
to convert a usdm harness to use a map sensor take all of 20 minutes. you literally move one pin over at the ecu harness and hardwire in the map sensor and iat where the maf harness comes out in the engine bay. using a USDM harness is actually a great idea, but they are generally more expensive to buy.

edit** totally forgot to say usdm TT harness body plugs are all wrong = more work.

I just ot done with the harness conversion, i used the GE harness and just added whatever wire the GTE has and the GE doesn't.
Ran new cam sensor wires, crank sensor and i just remove the coils and ignitor wire from the GTE and install them in the GE harness.
Rewire the map sensor, AIT, and some other wires i am trying to get the car running by next week.
And Yes the SC body plugs and the Supra one are completely different, so it will be alot more work trying to match the Bodyplugs and then extend the GTE harness it's not worth it.

Lol i was workin on it last night, the only difference between the VVTi GE and the GTE is the body plugs and the VVTi has alot of ABS sensor and wires, but let me see what i can come up with.
I can swap the VVTi ECU connector with the GTE one so it's PNP and just move the Pin around, then check both wirin diagram and BAM ....
