i bought an exedy stock replacement on ebay for 165 shipped from vendor "clutch city". im pretty sure thats the name. fast shipping. the clutch has been in the car since september-ish 2006. since that time the car has been driven nicely but has been through a lot of drift days with a lot of clutch-kick happy times
so far so good

just so people are aware of it the throw-out bearing fork differ depending on the year of the SC.
i believe the first gen is 92-94 and second get is 95+. the difference is in the fork and the way the bearing mounts to the fork.
i had instructions included with my exedy clutch that specifically stated that the kit is meant for the later version of the SC300 and the w58. the difference being the shape of the retaining clip. the exedy kit includes the newer style retaining clip. you use that one if you have a 95+ sc300.
if you have the early SC300 you have to reuse your original retaining clip. its not a big deal at all. the retaining clip is just like a piece of wire bent into proper shape.
i ended up reusing my original retaining clip. left the one that came with the kit as a spare.
the throwout bearings on both generations of w59 transmissions are the same.

I would buy an OEM toyota throwout/pilot bearing, the ones that come with the clutch are gonna be the cheapest they can get to maximize profit, my room mate just did his clutch and used the aftermarket bearing that came with it and its already making noise, now its too much of a PITA to take the tranny back out just to swap out a noisy bearing.
