Default rough idle on 93 5speed sc300

lately i've notice that in cold weather, my sc would idle at around 600 rpms and would feel like its about to begin to die, but it doesnt becase it wouldn't idle lower than that. but after 10 mins or so of driving, it would idle fine again at around 8-900 rpms. i'm thinking its a timing problem. maybe a tune up may help it, but im not sure. car passed it smmog check fine, but the smog guy said thatthe timing was retarded to 7 degrees, 3degrees lower than where its supposed to be. could that be it? it ran fine up until now when its cold. its completely stock and i always put 76 or cheveron premium gas and full synthetic castrol 5w 30 oil in it with a k&n oil filter. its got a drop in k&n airfilter as well, but thats it. what could this possibly mean? help!

hey i have the same problem too, on mine..i just did a swap but then my car is idling at 500 rpm too but then the thing is that i have a new timing belt so in your case that cant be the problem, but i was told that you can adjust the MAP sensor to make it idle higher on mine but not sure on the NA motor.

Check to see that all your vacuum lines. I had a friend that had a similar problem and that happened to be the issue. If your timing belt is that new... well I would think if they had done it wrong that this issue would have been going on since then.
