Default R154 Tranny Questions

"R154 TURBO MANUAL TRANSMISSION

FOR

86.5-92 TOYOTA SUPRA 7MGTE MK3 MA70

THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH IT IS THAT

1ST GEAR SYNCRO IS GONE

GEAR ENGUAGES BUT POPS OUT AS SOON AS MOTOR IS UNDER LOAD. ON RARE MOMENTS IT WILL NOT POP OUT BUT EXTREME CARE IS NEEDED FOR THAT TO HAPPEN.

OTHER THAN THAT THE REST OF THE GEARS ARE VERY STRONG. JUST NEED SYNCROS REPLACED. DONT KNOW HOW MANY MILES ARE ON IT"

I have a couple questions about this tranny, first off will this tranny work for the 2jz swap im looking to do on my sc4, second whats a good price for this tranny i think i can get it for 150 to 200 dollars is this a good deal? thanks

I would look for a working transmission (no problems) unless you are planing on rebuilding it.
Working R154 with 90k miles have been sold for 250-500. Sometimes the 250 ones pop up, it's rare but it happens.

my buddy has a couple busted mk3 r-154s he would sell cheap, for the rest of your ?s just search there all on here. trannys are a pain in the butt just find a good one fork over some cash or send a busted one to marlin crawler to get rebuilt with the good stuff either way your spending cash.

for 450 it better be perfect. you still need another 1,500-1,700 in parts to make it work
