Update
Sorry it's been a while
Got my wiring harness back from Dr. Tweak and it's money!!! Pictures to follow.
Things I'm waiting on.
1. Igniter
2. Flex plate (bent the other one getting the crank bolt off)
3. Crank Pulley
4. Engine mounts/brackets
I think I'm going to swap out the USDM turbo's I got from Stu Hagen for the JDM/GT28ish ones. Some subtle differences in the JDM turbo piping and the fact that I already have a JDM manifold have talked me in this direction.

How different are the USDM turbos compared to the JDM ones? I always thought that the turbos were essentially the same construction other than the ceramic blades. Also the JDM manifold and USDM manifold are completely different as well?
Keep us updated, im really interested in that GT28 hybrid setup.

I have probably confused everyone by now. I thought I was switching to the JDM rebuilds due to some things mentioned above, but I'm sticking with the USDM hybrids. The only real diff in the manifolds is 3 bolt pattern for JDM and 4 bolt pattern for USDM. The turbine housings match that as well. The EGCV is significantly different seeing as how the JDM has exhaust bypass built in and USDM has an exhaust bypass pipe. To clarify, I was actually never getting a GT28 setup. The JDM modified one's from BnR approximate a GT28 but are not exactly that. The JDM turbine is bigger and is ceramic, but that is chunked for stainless if you get the upgrade.
What I am going with are the USDM hybrids that I currently possess. Minor upgrade, but better bearings and a 12 blade compressor/ vice 10 for OEM.

Update
My father died last Sunday so the car has been on hold. Things are different, but the SC is good to keep me busy.
Finally got everything squared away with the turbo's. Stu Hagen is the man for providing me with everything I needed for USDM setup.
Waiting on motor mounts to come in. I've got to get them on before I can start piling a lot more on the block.

Pistons are not new. They were in great shape so I just replaced the compression rings and oil seals.

Nice to see updates. Aren't the Japanese stock twins the weaker ceramic ones? could be wrong. If you pay the shipping you can have my flexplate for free (assuming I don't bend it when I take it off tomorrow).

If it's a GTE flexplate then I'll do that. However, I thought the GE flexplate would be the same and it's not. Holes are like 2-3mm offset.

Update
I feel as fickle as the wind. So...now I'm keeping the hybrid US twins. Found a crack in the JDM turbine housing and I don't want to deal with a custom downpipe. Anyway, pics of the engine and wiring harness below. Waterpump on.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences.
Your swap is looking fantastic. It's nice to do the complete rebuild. I've done that before, and it's a great feeling once you hit the key.
