92 SC300 coolant smell on startup
I smell coolant whenever my car has a cold start, it has to be sitting there a bit to get the smell. I first noticed it after i let the car sit during summer for about three weeks and started it up and that's when the smell began.
The coolant in my reservoir is very slowly going down, i've still been daily driving the SC (put probably 500miles on it since the smell started) and no issue really.
Coolant in the reservoir looks like coolant, and the oil cap doesn't have any white film to it. I was going to do an oil change next weekend and that's when I can check the oil coming out to see if it comes out like chocolate milk. I put in a new radiator about 8k miles ago, but no issue for 8 months until now.
What are some other things I should check for?
Thanks,
Joe

Look for any coolant leaks before you start it first off. Then start it up and check your exhaust for any white smoke or the smell. That is coolant in your combustion chamber burning off. Then let it warm up to operating temp. and see if there is any leaks under the engine and any of the hoses. Then if you don't see anything turn the car off and check after its off for any leaks. Hopefully its not a headgasket leak cause then you might have some issues. Good luck though.
