Default 1jz-gte, do I need brackets if I use supra tt motor mounts?

Okay,
I am trying to confirm the answer to this question because I've gotten mix answers from reading various threads. If I am using 1997 Supra TT motor mounts, and I am swapping in a 1jz-gte motor, do I need to get the brackets for it as well? I was told by someone who did the swap that he needed the brackets too, but several people have posted on this forum from before that they should be the same on both the 1jz and 2jz, so it's not needed.

If I do need the brackets, could somebody hook me up with the part number for those, I couldn't find the exact ones that was needed.

Compare the length of the mounts to the ones in your 2jz and compare the length of the brackets between the two. If they are the same then you're good to go. If the brackets are different lengths, you can always use the brackets from the 2jz if they are the right size to complement the mounts.

Yeah, I know that's the easiest way to find out but I haven't started the swap yet. I am just trying to get all the parts so I can just do everything at once and not have to keep running out and buying parts and stuff.

Could just order some brand new SC motor mounts, from what I remember thats what you need. Unless you really want a TRD motor mount or something like that, but IMHO thats overkill.

Hey Matt, the SC motor mounts are more expensive, I was told that the 97+ TT supra motor mounts fits the same and are better as far as the construction and material goes. I am thinking I don't need the brackets, but we'll see.

Well, just for reference, I got the 98 supra motor mounts and they fit perfectly. I'm not sure how the 97's compare in size.

Sweet! I think they should be the same, I am leaning towards not needed the brackets because it seems that everybody got the motor mounts only and they were fine. Thanx for the reply man.
