Exclamation 92-96 RMM Exhaust for a 97 SC400

Basically, my question is...can I make it work?
I've looked it up and the Rod Millen Motorsport SC400 Dual Exhaust System is only suitable for 91-96 SC's.

http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=576

This pisses me off a lot because I love the sound of these babies.

Soooo.....I was wondering if there is any way I can take my car to a specialty shop and have them weld things or I don't know modify my system to make it work. Do you guys think its worth it? Thanks.

I have rod millen mufflers on my car and they work perfectly fine as a bolt-on mod. I had a complete exhaust system done on my car so my shop ended up welding them on, but either way its no probs. I think they say 92-96 for legal reasons associated with the OBD-II system. Its the same thing for their air intake system.

The exhaust system I have on my '97 came off of a '93 and it was a direct clean bolt up from the cats back.

Hahahhaha Rod Millen Motorsport I believe
But are you sure about that RedPhoenix? I mean I know RMM is a company in California but the exhaust system is called a RMM sc400 exhaust system...

But anyways that's good to know, that the job will just be an easy bolt in. I was thinking I'd have to custom build my exhaust system to make it work. Now all I have to do is find a shop somewhere around here in podunk Yorktown, VA that will know anything about performance exhaust systems...lmao

Thanks for all the help guys!

yes RMM is magnaflow...there was a thread awhile back. Some member got the RMM exhaust only to get real pissed off because there was a BIG magnaflow stamped on them. He called customer service, and they told him that yes RMM is magnaflow LOL

Why don’t you just do your own custom setup and save yourself a lotta cash, that is what most of us have done

I think custom would be a hell of a lot better than the bolt on RMM. I did my entire X-Pipe --> Mufflers and piping, install etc for about $500.

Yea I thought about it. But the sound I'm trying to get is not what you have RedPhoenix, I saw your video on YouTube. I wanted a more throatier sound and the RMM videos I saw, like this one (car at 2:00), are exactly what I want. Do you think the car in the video was done with bolt on RMM or a custom exhaust system cause I really want that guy's sound.

Man, all I can say is that the RMM exhaust system I'm looking to buy off of L-Tuned looks different from the Magnaflow 14829 Mufflers. But if its true I guess that's a huge boner killer. Not that I'm hating on the Flows, but just that they just don't suit my taste. I love the deep V8 and I really want to bring that out. I would get JIC Bullet Spartans but hell thats like a 2k exhaust system lol.

the bad thing about 14829 is that if you look at the exhaust tip inside, you can see that there is an opening 1 inch approximately in diameter, so the muffler is not 2.5 all the way through. What kills the sound is that, put any air thru that small opening and they just shuts up. I had the option of removing that but I didn't take it for fears that it might be too loud.

you can just do custom with Borla canisters, I heard that they are loud
