Default V Band Clamp not tighten properly..

ok stupid question, but anyways since my turbo exhaust outlet and my downpipe are both 3" v band and the v band flanges are 3.5-3.75" in diameter, then why doesn't my v band clamp(3.5" clamp) that i just ordered doesn't tighten them down. i tried tighting it all the way and it's still wiggling..WTF!! sorry still a noob w/ v bands stuff...btw i also tried a 3" clamp and was way to small....

yes i'm sure, and like i said the first one i ordered was a 3" clamp and when i recieved it, it couldn't even go all the way around the v band flange..that's why i bought a 3.5" clamp this time but it's also a little to big...could it be that the 3.5" clamp that i got is defective?

You need a 3" vband clamp. I personally had to have my downpipe v-band flange shaved down because it was too thick for the clamp to go over both at the time, and then the 3" worked just fine.
