My 1998 sc300 also gets over 400 miles per gallon.

BTW, I'm contemplating this swap with a local mechanic. Any suggestions besides studying you and JeffTsai's posting like the bar exam?

thx in advance.

you mean 400 miles per tank? if so, that's still an incredible feat...if it's true.

All I can say is make a list of all the parts you need. Check your list two or three times and you should not end up like me running to the DEALER for parts to be ordered. I made a list as the project got rolling I missed a few items (Supra TT Clutch Fan Blade & Exhaust Down Pipe Studs & Locking Nuts)

So Im guessing your not doing anything crazy with this build if you are worried about the economy? I wouldnt say performance wise that the VVTI 2jz-gte is "better" than the regular 2jz-gte. Strength wise I would say that the VVTI is weaker

I think 450whp is all I will ever need but if all goes well I want this HYBRID TWIN TURBO set up like STU HAGEN
STU said that with his hydrid CT12b USDM turbo set up. I could make a reliable 450whp at 18psi. That's good enough for me.

His site has a lot of good information & pictures & videos

Default The List Of Things

COMPLETED
1: ARISTO 2jzgte vvti & SC300 2jzge vvti shipped to Phoenix Tuning for hybrid harness conversion
2: Removed Transmission
3: Removed Crankshaft Pulley
Parts Ordered
1: Supra Turbo Oil Return Flange
2: Turbo # 2 Oil Return Line
3: Oil Return Hose & Clamps
I am now able to order the Water Pump, Timing Belt, Cam Seals ,Front Seal ,Rear Seal. I did not think I would be able to remove the Crank Shaft Pulley Bolt. With my wife's help and a bar that I attached to the rear of the engine with the fly wheel bolts and a breaker bar with a jack handel (2ft) it came off very eazy.
Next On The List
1: Remove Sump
2: Attach Super Turbo Oil Return Flange
3: Wait For Hybrid Harness
4: Look For 2jzgte vvti ECU
