the .59 is way too small for the volume of air our motors put out....for your low spooling needs the .81 would be fine, but I tried to look for a compressor map for that trim with no luck. You need to know what your goals are as far as how much boost are you planning to run, and how much cfm you think your going to be putting out. From that, you look at the compressor map and find its efficiency range. The correct combination of all these factors and maintaining that inner island on the map is critical in finding the right turbo for you. Quite honestly, i think your started off with the wrong turbo but i cant be sure of that until i see some specs on it.

If you find something, post it up and ill have a look at it.

Interesting.. I will be starting with a 6-8psi wastegate spring, and I'm hoping to get to around 300rwhp for a start. It will be na-t stock compression 10:1, so I don't want to get too crazy.

You know.., by looking at the propellor, can you actually tell what kind of trim is it? Or am I totally on the wrong track to determine this??

I run a .81 with my 67mm turbo and I love it. Spools quick enough and doesn't feel choked up top. 11 psi with a 38mm wastegate on stock compression and it moved. This time around it'll have a GTE headgasket though.

As for your second question, if you take off the compressor housing you can use a dial indicator to measure how big the wheel is.

Ok, so those measurments don't do a thing at all huh? What does 67mm have to do with the turbo? I've heard of all that 60-1 trim, and this and that, but don't understand about it. I'm just trying to get this turbo to spool correctly. I'm looking for no more than 350rwhp, so I'm sure this turbo is capable.

If you search (if you don't find it here, try SupraForums or google) you can probably find how to get exact measurements of your turbo. From what I understand the 67mm just means that the compressor side wheel of my turbo is 67mm in diameter.

Not all .81's are created equal. It may be far too big or small, so you can't judge by that. For example, a .63 buick style t4 frame turbine housing is much larger than a .63 T31 Precision T3 style turbine housing.

Measure the inducer and exducer of the compressor wheel, and I can give you some more info.

Rite on.. I just found out a bit more info. on the t04b's. The 1.15a/r exhaust is the recommended size, and 1.06a/r is actually considered an upgrade for a slightly faster spool. However, I've decided to go with the .96a/r because of my na-t stock compression. You're also right about the .81a/r. Any lower will get into peak boost too soon.
