Default JDM 2jzgte Starter

Does anyone know if the starter on a JDM 2jzgte is exactly the same as a USDM 2jzgte starter.

The follow up question would be...Are the flex/drive plates the same between n/a and GTE. If the starter is the same, I'm guessing they would have to be, but I know the torque converter is a little different.

Wierd.. can anyone confirm this? My non turbo starter has a different plug than the starter plug on the gte harness...

non turbo starter is from a 93 auto sc300, the gte harness is from a jdm supra 2j

I also have a starter from a jdm 1jz supra r154... This starter can be plugged right into the non turbo motor no problem. But when I try to do the same on the turbo motor it does not fit... Which raises my eyebrow...

I guess I'll have to do more research.

Well according to toyota a usdm 93 supra, with or without turbo, starter has the part number: 28100-46140-84

while a 93 lexus sc300 has a starter with the part number of : 28100-46100

I will take off my non turbo starter and try to plug it into the turbo harness.. I'll be takin pics also of the different plugs and stuff.

I dont know if this helps but my starter died on my 1jz GTE(Soarer) and I had laying around a US non turbo 2J GE VVTI starter from my engine swap and it worked! The 2j starter is a little bigger tho.

You are correct, I believe that the 1jz and SC300 2jz starters are swappable. My 1jz starter fits on my GE motor no problem..But for some reason, the plugs are different on my supra 2jz-gte.
