Default T61 ar68 or ar 63 for 2jz-ge?

question for the turbo guys
which one will be better for a 2jz-ge with 2mm headgasket
I'm looking for something for the street and quick spool
I know the a/r63 will a bit spool faster.

Just want to see what you guys spool at if you have a t61
and how's the power in the mid to high's

thanks

I think you answered your own question.
You said you want a street car with quick spool.
a/r 63 or a/r58 if you can find 1

just worried about surge,
there was a few posts on here, that said anything less then a .68 can cause surge for a 2jz-ge.
But it was kinda old. Not sure if people have figured out any more yet, or been able to validate the previous thread

I wouldnt waste time with a .58, not enough flow

Get a .68 to .84 on a T61, the turbo comes into boost violently, a.58 just makes it worse. Remember the .68 and .84 aren't going to spool that much slower; its not very noticible except the powerband is smoother and fatter (the larger A/Rs can make more power under the curve). A T61 is already going to spool pretty quick.

.58 won't cause surging on a little ~60mm turbo unless you're running a setup designed to cause it, but on the bigger ones it can (like the 67mm+). Keep with the typical support mods: 3" turboback or larger, good intake, 2.5" or larger IC piping, etc and you won't have any trouble.

I'd still recommend the .68 though; its a good balance.

Thanks Bean
.68 it is then

I already have a fmic with 2.5" piping, 440 injectors (I may up it to 525's) I have a meth kit, but not installed yet

I was hoping that with meth and a max boost of 18psi, I can still use the 440's
