Default Anyone running ebay clutch on sc300

Its time for a new clutch. Car is stock and have no plans to boost until I get a swap and that wont be for a while. Just wondering if anyone on here is using a clutch kit from e-bay? Are they worth getting?

which specific clutch are you talking about? i know it's different but people on supramania has found that the XTD clutches aren't what they advertise (for the r154) but people have had good luck w/ them below 400 or so rwhp. before u buy one for the w58, i'd do some research.

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43713

btw, i do have a spec 3+ w/ the superclamp option for sale (well not yet as i have not posted it up yet). hit me up if your interested.

Are you talking about the F1-Racing clutch? I've used it on my 240sx when I put in the sr20det. It was the stage 3 6-puck sprung clutch.

I ran it for almost 2 years. It held very strong. Lots of launching and clutch kicking. When I dynotuned it, I made 254hp and 272 torque with the stock turbo on 14.5psi.

I don't know about on the SC300 but my experiance with them was very good on my 240sx. I was planning on getting it again for when I convert to 5speed, but I don't think I should go cheap on this car. Anybody has experiance with it on an sc300?

be cautious with them though...i had a bad experience with my 240sx and a XTD stage 3 clutch...on a stock SR...it just shattered while I was on the freeway, took the bell housing with it...

if you get it, just make sure you install it correctly and aligned good.

i actually just installed the korean made SECO clutch kit on ebay [$78] after i burned my clutch and so far 50 miles it seems okay. went on the freeway, dd, stop and go. so far its doing good as an oem replacement.

I had that same clutch in my Maxima and hated it. Ive driven a few cars with stage 3 6 pucks sprung and unsprung style clutches and the F1 Racing Clutch was terrible. Ill admit it did always grab but could never get the clutch peddle feel right or consistent, just plain annoying. I do not recommend this clutch at all.

^^^^just because its a bit touchy doesnt mean its bad. its meant to be more of a performance clutch.

I had a ebay clutch back in the day (forgot what brand). I got it on here brand new for like 50 shipped or something. It did the job because my clutch was gone at the time. It held on for quite awhile with some sprinted driving and what not. Then I went NA-T on 5 psi and it held on for a couple of weeks and started to slip. I finished it off by launching it a couple of times and just having fun.

I got the same one he did. I have put maybe 30 miles on mine and it feels much better then a burnt clutch. It actually grips the gears now. LOL
