Default Im buying a turbo....

Im shopping for a turbo for my car (GE with r154). Im looking to make 500whp. This is a street car, ...pump gas only. I have 750cc injectors. I want a turbo that wont be too laggy, but wont choke out in the upper rpms.

I found this turbo. Its a Garrett T67. .70 A/R intake side, .81 A/R exhaust side. 4" intake and 3" V-Band exhaust flange (H cover).

A guy at boostlogic recommended one with a .68 A/R exhaust and a S cover (4" intake, 2.5" exhaust)

Should I go for the Garrett I found, for a pretty good deal,??? .....or should I hold out for the one that was recommended.??????

Before I would recommend anything, it would be nice to know everything else you are doing other than injector size.........that doesnt really help us out any. If your are wanting a good all around "street" turbo, that Garrett sounds along those lines. But again that is solely dependant on everything else you are doing to get the results that y ou want.

I wouldn't go with the .68. With a stock head you get too much EM/IM pressure ratio. You'll get a smoother powerband with an undivided larger housing.

Whats EM/IM stand for? Must be pressure between the head and the exhaust turbine?

What are the negative effects of that? Wouldnt it spool sooner with the .68?

Also whats the difference, performance wise, ... between running the S cover compared to the H cover?
