oil pressure on a sc300?
just installed a new electric oil pressure gauge in my sc300 and was wondering what's the oil pressure on it supposed to be? i'm not turbo'd yet but went ahead and installed it, on a cold start it's around 75 psi, after it's warmed up then it'll be around 50 psi at idle and 25 psi when i come to a stop during highway speeds..when i drive it normally it'll be around 75-85 psi and when i floor it it'll go all the way to 100 psi, does this sounds normal? i don't think this would be a good ideal w/ all that oil pressure going to the turbo once i get it installed, i'll be blowing turbo seals left to right but i know i can get a oil restrictor though. i'm using a sandwich plate btw..

on my 2jzgte, i have the same oil pressure you have. 75ish on cold start, 40-50 on warm idle and 100+ on high rpms. i also had high oil pressure on my 1jz. i used a oil restrictor for my dbb turbo, and so far so good.

It could be the wiring.
My oil light has been coming on lately at various times (idle, and sometimes at cruising throttle) Does this mean my oil pump is going out? The car is not burning oil, the levels are fine.

According to this link, my oil level light was on. (the yellow one in the rev counter) I know my oil level is fine, i checked the dipstick and its FULL. My oil pressure (the red one in the right corner) never lit up, so im safe. Any remedy to the level light?

everyone i know in japan that drives a 1j/2j car has "high" oil pressure
make sure you let your car warm up as to know blow any seals (front and rear main/ and valvecover gaskets)
