wash it by hand and save yourself some trouble. those people probably used a pressure washer. i have been washing engines with a regular hose for years with no problems.

its the luck of the draw i guess.

its a waste of a sticky IMO.

No there should be a search button where people could research doing something before they take 55 gallons of water and a hose and bury their engine in H2O to the point the spark plug holes are filled to the brim. Like some type of research button where you could get answers instantly by searching key terms...

Actually, wait.................

seriously, why pump loads of water onto your engine and electrical components?

I use a spray bottle of simple green degreaser, and spray it on the cloth, then proceed to clean the engine. I've never had any issues.

I agree with O.L.T. Every time I think about doing any type of modification to my car I always take this forum into consideration. Washing the motor out is kind of a no brainer. There have been countless threads posted on the subject. I say do some research if you are not sure how you are going to go about doing it.

people should definetly try searching before doing something to a car they haven't done before..

anytime i attempt something i search it first, see if there is a how to, not that it's always the right way but at least it is a guideline or might have helpful info in it..

i'm really glad when people take on little tasks they do write ups, from fixing window solenoids, to suspension install, i really appreciate people's how to's.
