Default running hot need a lil help

wasup guyz need a lil help. i have a 94 sc 300, and the problem i am having is that when it is hot outside and i am at a stop light my car starts to run hot, but when i drive it starts to cool. when it is night time or cool outside it does not run hot. i had a cel code 71 and 41 which is temp sensor and egr. the question i have is does the coolant sensor work as a switch for the fan or do you think my fan clutch is bad or do you think it is the thermostat. thanks i just want to get a lil feed back before i start to drop money. also another ques where can i get a book for this car

well its never a bad idea to upgrade ur thermostat, its a cheap fix/upgrade... but when it comes to cooling issues it can be anything. it maybe the coolant temp sensor or even as little as a radiator hose that has a small leak/crack which would cause the car to over heat not by dripping coolant btu by letting it evaporate (*sp)
