Default Going the 1JZ route

So I finally picked up my engine today. It has been sitting at a neighbors mattress warehouse since January, and I finally have been in town long enough to pick it up. First I went and rented a U-HAUL truck. I had to rent the 17 footer because it was the smallest one with the loading ramp. After driving it to the warehouse, I found that the truck was too short for the loading gate. After moving the engine close to the gate with a forklift, we put down a big pallet angled into the back of the truck with some plywood over it. We then put the engine on it, and slid it into the truck. A slight inconvenience, but no matter. Now back to my house. I back up the truck into my driveway, and extend the ramp into the garage. Even with four guys, we could not get the motor to budge an inch in the back of the truck. We ended up connecting yellow tie down straps to the pallet it was on, to my dad's Land Rover, and slowly scooting it to the edge. We were planning on simply sliding the whole pallet down the ramp, but then we noticed that the engine was not sitting on the pallet straight, and we were afraid it might tip over. We had to unload the intercooler, and driveshaft from the pallet, and even unbolt the automatic transmission that we were not using. After an 45 minutes, we finally slid the pallet with the motor down the ramp and into the garage. Now back to return the truck. I go to fill up at the Conoco station next to the U-HAUL store, at 3.89/gallon. I had driven 13 miles and put 6 gallons in!!! Anyways, good news is that I have my engine, and will be doing the swap in three weeks when I'm home from school for the summer. Stay tuned and tomorrow or Sunday I'll have pictures and stuff of the timing belt and water pump change.

Cliffnotes: Was afraid to spill my load in the back of a truck, so had three other guys help me out. It ended quite well.

Edit: Second page is probably not 56k safe. Very picture intensive.

I got it from Jarco. I think the guys name was Mike. He was a very nice guy and I had a great buying experience from them!

My SC is a 5-speed. They didn't have any 1j's with the 5-speed, so I figured I would just reuse my tranny.

So I probably won't have the timing belt and water pump pics. I can't get the damn crank pulley bolt loose.
And by the way, I have a free Soarer auto tranny if anyone wants to pick it up in Colorado.

Ya, its just taking up space right now. I can't even pull my car into the garage anymore. lol
How long did it take you to extend the harness? I'm about an hour in, and have only done six wires.

mine only has a few extended wires from the body plug, my harness wasn't extended though, the ecu just sits more towards the center under my dash somewhat..

Is it just one body plug that needs to be extended? Do you have pics?

Update:
Home for the summer and got a baseline dyno done of the stock 2JZ-GE.
Mods are 3" exhaust and ebay intake.
I also have 18" wheels and live at 5000 feet above sea level. Not bad imo.
173.7 hp on a Dyno-Mite dynamometer.

Starting the swap next week!!!!
