I started the swap today. It was just me and one other friend and we got a fair amount of work done for a couple of novices. We unhooked pretty much everything except for some of the harness plugs. I think with a few hours of work tomorrow we should have the engine out. I'll post some pics of the progress tomorrow.

I would drain the gas. I remember when we were pulling my 1uz out of the old car, gas kept flowing out, slowly though... But that could be cause we cut the lines and it had half a tank.
I could so use that tranny right now. Too bad you aren't local...

Using the chain wrench worked great for me when I did it! Only place I could find that had the wrench though was AutoZone, FYI.

Progress from the last two days. We've only been working from like 9am to around 2pm, so excuse the pace. We got the clutch and the w58 bolted up to the 1jz, and got the wiring done. The engine is about 3/4 of the way in. We just need to line up the mounts now and plug everything in.
