A noob have questions.. Difference between supra 2jz and sc300 2jz
Hi
Im very new to sc300s.. and I could not find any good thread about it..
what is the difference between supra's 2jz engine and sc300 2jz engine..
Im not talking about anything turbo.. the differences in engine
because I see many people swaping supra 2jz in sc300.. is it just because
supra's 2jz-gte has turbo? isnt it just easier to get turbo kit for sc300 2jz-ge than swapping the motor if you want the turbo?
and one more question.. why people swapping 1jz, which is older and smaller engine, to sc300.. 1jz is better than 2jz?

as far as i know 2jzgte and 2jzge share the same block, but thats about it. Correct me if i'm wrong. 2jzgte is also reportedly stronger.
1jz is a cheaper jz engine which will undoubtedly be strong. All jz engines are ridiculously strong and can have the hell beat outta them. 1jz is a half liter short, which would help with gas. I know alot of people run 1jz and make just as much power as a 2jz. 1jz is alot more accesable also.
Like i said, correct me if i'm wrong.

ehh, 3 hours? really?
Supra 2JZ-GE: Naturally Aspirated Motor
SC300 2JZ-GE: Naturally Aspirated Motor
Both motors are the same
Supra 2JZ-GTE: It is a turbo motor, it has the same displacements as the naturally aspirated motor, but the engine itself is stronger to handle the twin turbos
1JZ-GTE: It is a turbo motor, and just because it has a small displacements than the naturally aspirated motor, it still has 2 turbos and the engine is built stronger to handle more power.
Now, go do some research, don't just type is 2JZ....You can type in 2JZGTE, or NA-T to do more research...

Both Supra and SC300 n/a motor are the same except for the oil pan. If you end up buying a supra n/a motor, you'll need the oil pan off your SC.
Usually when people swap in Supra motors, they are swaping it for the 2jzgte.

Oh humor....
Though this question is asked... I do like the fact that fuel effieciency is a larger consdieration for swaps when it comes to SC's. Especially in these rough times...
It makes me want to go 1J over 2..
