How to mount a blow off valve BOV
Ok - I started a thead here requesting pictures of mounted blow off valve's to get an idea of where to mount one.
Now I need an idea of how to mount one.
1. The 1jz has a factory BOV that needs to be removed and cover plate put in place.
Now my question is this:
Should the BOV be mounted onto a separate mounting pipe which can then be welded into the IC piping?
-or-
Should we cut a hole out of the existing IC piping and just weld the BOV into the IC piping directly?
I guess the end result would be about the same; but there must be one method preferred over the other.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I have a fmic with alumn piping and i have the bov mounted on the IC pipe right before the intake manifold. Also I left my stock BOV in place. Ideally I will someday make a block off plate but its not NECESSARY

I have links set in the OP for the two methods I was considering.
Thank you so much for the response.

Most BOVs come with weldable flanges in the material of your choice (usually steel, stainless or aluminum). You cut a hole in you IC piping for the flange and weld it on. The preferred mounting location is closest to the throttle body.
You can leave your stock bypass valve installed but just disconnect the vacuum line.
