As my car just passed the 140k mark with no problems what-so-ever other than that power steering leak that caused me to buy a new alternator, I'm starting to do some preventative things to my ride now before I slap some new wheels on it amongst other things.

I've just replaced the timing belt, got new OEM brake rotors, some aftermarket pads, new brake lines, and a couple other goodies. Now what I am looking for is a new drive/serpentine belt. I'm not exactly the mechanic type, so I'm not even sure what the precise name of the part I'm looking for. It's the main belt under the hood that spins just about every useful thing. It's starting to corrode a bit, and I want to get it replaced ASAP!

My stupid n00b-ish question, is what exactly is that belt called? I called the local Lexus dealership and asked the price for a serpentine belt for my car, only for the "worker" to tell me such a part doesn't exist for my car.

Can someone clear this up for me please?

Also, should I be looking into any other major replacement parts for my car considering it's age and mileage? I'll be replacing some major suspension components soon, that much is certain.

Try asking for the drive belt.
